i-D Magazine Goes Clubbing + My Summer Music Compilation

GET UP! GET HAPPY! TRY NOT TO PASS OUT IN THE HEAT!

As summer heat fills the atmosphere and I'm more prone to stay inside or keep my mind off the fact that I'm melting, the pleasure of new music steps in and sweeps me away into a better place. i-D magazine, one of my favorites who just turned 35, has the same effect. Today they dropped this new video with a haunting screencaps of Molly Bair:

Clubland: Beauty and Subculture Through the Ages is directed by brothers Santiago and Mauricio Sierra as part of their Beautiful Collaborations with Microsoft.  This video was like this flashback of my questionable soft grunge phase back in middle school and all those who were featured (Luka Sabbat, Hari Nef and Molly Bair just to name a few) reminded me that I, too, used to listen to Crystal Castles in a sweatshirt despite it being 90 degrees outside. But really, the video delved into each subculture and had amazing transitions and looks that fulfilled each scene.

As for the music I've been listening to, I'm still all over the place. If I workout, I'll listen to whatever loud and catchy pop and rap playlists there is to offer, but the other moments of my life have mostly been filled with instrumentals, 90's hip-hop/soul, or psych rock from different decades (nod to my faves, Tame Impala... and of course Frank Zappa).
